Observation details
- Dainty looking, although not overly small. Size of small herring or large ring-billed - Pale mantle, comparable to Glaucous Gull. - Small round head. - Very light straw eye, not much for flecks or spots. Falls in the class 1 category gull research.org - Pure white primaries in the 0-1 category. Not even a hint of shade - P10 outer web appears white all the way to covert - Bill could be considered short and thin, hard to say with no other icelands in close proximity. - Mantle shade deceiving in photos due to contrasty side-angled lighting, when this bird was square to light or with cloud cover, noticeably stood out as pale. A good example of how pale this bird is the photo of open left primaries and flight shot. - Extensively stained
