Observation details
Refound following an earlier sighting at Canal Park (slightly earlier in the morning). The Ivory Gull was viewed at a considerable distance, seen southwest of eBirded spot (in Wisconsin Waters, near Barker's Island). It was seen as a speck in binoculars, best appreciated through the scope views where the glowing white plumage really "popped". The stocky gull was seen both flying moderately low, and perching on the ice several times too. Noting the plumage again, it glowed stark-while from all angles. Towards the end of the viewing, it flew past a distant glaucous gull, where the Ivory Gull appeared dwarfed by the much larger Glaucous Gull. Photo is incredibly cropped, as the bird was seen across the harbor.
