Observation details
At least 6 with very short-billed, blunt-tipped, broad-based bills and rounded heads foraging along the shallow edges of the pond in sharp contrast to the many Westerns exhibiting long narrow drooping bill and sharper frontal forehead appearance. Unfortunately none of either species were vocalizing.
