Observation details
***MEGA | continuing at feeders from 10/18. Rufous on flanks and rectrices indicative of selasphorus: R1 looked fairly wide and mostly green with very little black near the tip. R2 had more extensive black then green reaching up to very limited rufous at the base. R3-5 with white tips; R5 too wide for Allen's. Two reddish-orange feathers on a heavily dotted throat. Spent a lot of time in the morning visiting the feeders. Often found perched on the shrubs dividing the property. Also frequently perched high in the maple over the feeders and in the birch (was it birch?) blocked by the spruce behind the garage. Made much less frequent visits in the afternoon but was seen by D. Rankin flying to a different house (possibly a feeder there?).
