Observation details
Continuing bird. Many thanks to Ryne Rutherford for finding this beautiful bird. Small flycatcher, grey/brown above, with darker wings and tail. Throat white, white breast with light streaks, pale supercilium, small bill, salmon-orange belly and vent. Red feathers on the head and slight crest seen in my photos. We watched the bird for about 45 minutes. It flew on to the top of an antenna for a very close look and it was here we saw its brief (once) tail-pumping behavior. Then the bird went out into the marsh, perching on two small trees where it would fly out and back for insects. At the end of our visit, the bird had crossed the road but still stayed in the general vicinity.
