Observation details
At the beginning of the recording only a bananaquit is heard, but from second 12.3 to 17.3, when the motor is already approaching, some squeaky calls are heard. When the motor has passed, at 27.0 seconds, the squeaky calls are heard again and immediately after that a repetitive call at a single pitch, later on taken over by the song of a scrub blackbird. I have been hearing calls from the top of the buildings here for the past week, mostly after sunset, both the squeaks and the repetitive call. They are only heard intermittently and traffic noise makes it impossible to get a good recording. I have been watching out for any perched or flying bird around, but I have not seen anything. The calls do not fit with the usual suspects of the area, but it makes me think of a large raptor with nestlings.
