Observation details
First observed on east portion of loop near the bench & info sign with bird descriptions (Chipping Sparrow, Rufous-sided Towhee, Gray-breasted Jay, something else). Later encounter what was probably the same bird near the bridge on the west side of the loop. Details: See photos, black completely surrounding the red throat, lacked red on nape, back pattern intermediate - messy rows of whitish markings. Still acquiring basic plumage (or appearance) as black breast shield feathers still tipped with white/pale gray.
