Observation details
Obviously tough to distinguish from Pied Wheatear, but this is the second specimen in a period of a couple weeks that looks more like Cyprus than Pied. I will go back and enter the other one after this. Pretty typical autumn plumage. Black throat, strong peach wash extending nearly all the way to the rump. Darker crown than a Pied Wheatear would normally have this time on year, and much too dark for a Black-eared Wheatear. Something of a rare sighting, but Djibouti is so underbirded I don't think anyone has a good sense of what is rare here and what is not.
