Possibly an immature male as black on breast band seems to be coming through the orange-brown colour
Observation details
Two birds - male and possibly young female/male photographed. Very responsive to pishing. Near GPS -13.54762, 23.45260. Male with broad elliptical body (not tapering towards belly like Chinspot). Also v broad breast band and no supercilium - black of eye mask meets grey of crown directly. Eye yellow with some orange tones. Call was the chattering alarm v similar to that given by Chinspot. Second bird seems to be a young female. Throat white and breast band chestnut but with black coming through. White supercilium and chestnut edging to greater coverts and tertials.
