Said to be a heron by my Indian canoeist. Picture of head only in de Schauensee shows large bill; text says short legs, possibly somewhat like our Green-backed Heron. However, Ben Coffey was able to identify it as Long-billed Woodcreeper from various tapes and playing it for his friends at AOU August 1986 meeting, who were familiar with Manu area or similar.
