Observation details
We netted one, took photos, and video, and released the bird and watched it bound away as it jumped between low to the ground perches. Later documented two nests on an overhanging boulder down the trail from our campsite. This was the first record in Ghana since the 1960's. See Marks, B. D., J. D. Weckstein, K. P. Johnson, M. J. Meyer, J. Braimah, and J. Oppong. 2004. Rediscovery of the White-necked Picathartes (Picathartes gymnocephalus) in Ghana. Bulletin of the British Ornithologists’ Club 124:151-153.
