Media notes
White supercilium evident on turned head, especially on sunlit side.
Observation details
RTHA-sized, bulky accipiter observed for ~30 min. perched in bare deciduous tree ~250-300m away at edge of open swamp; views were predominantly dorsal and back-lit, but white supercilium was obvious in scope when it turned its head (see second photo, below); its long tail extended far past tips of primaries; the tail had a broad black terminal tail band, with two widely-spaced wavy narrower bands visible below primary tips; pale speckling on otherwise mottled dark brown back; its puffy white undertail coverts with dark flecks were visible even from behind as they were being blown in the strong SW wind. The bird turned to face me briefly before flying south over the swamp, and I was able to see a buffy, evenly-streaked breast and belly.
