Observation details
*State Rarity- Distinctive immature white owl with dark mottling. Found along Rush Road at the above eye-level irrigation pond berm (southern side of Irrigation pond). Initially bird was crouched low in the sparse herbaceous grass plumes (over foot tall), bare earth ground with "card-deck' sized rocks. Showed more alert posture when we stopped the vehicle. Also Parallel to the road was a linear strip of cattails and freshwater choked emergent vegetative stream. Drove to pick up local neighbor- 10 minutes later with neighbor the bird relocated (was not found).
