Observation details

Heard near the Minimbah NR entrance gate. Repeated "hoop" calls with a rapid "br-et-et" reply call from the other side of the road. Booming call is similar to Brush Bronzewing, however it is softer, more rounded, peaking in the middle. The Brush Bronzewing call is flatter with a short peak at the abrupt ending. Recording made of the advertising call, though I missed the br-et-et call that was only uttered a single time. Habitat is about as good as it gets this far east. Many square kilometres of sedges, grasses, rushes, etc with plenty of areas that are high enough not to be waterlogged.
