Foraging in its favorite tree.
Observation details
***rare, especially in winter (first dec-feb eBird record for the state, but more heavily birded areas have plenty). Distinctive plain gray face and underparts, with chartreuse cap and back and bold slightly yellowish wingbars. Foraging in trees along buena vista, starting at my apartment on eton then working two blocks S to the pines before flying back towards the original sighting. Favored this Siberian elm: (35.0731000, -106.6240000). Foraging loosely with AUWAs (alone 50% of the time but would often go to them), often giving sweet but strong chip note similar to many other eastern Setophaga (and to some extent yellow warbler)
