Observation details
Not 100% sure about this id and it can obviously easily be changed. Not sure if this is the same bird others have had, I don’t recall seeing any photos of the TUDU reported here. This could be a totally different bird. Weird, looks like the back of the head was chopped off and the peak in front of head as opposed to back. Maybe because the tuft has not started to grow? Just did not feel like TUDU, had feel of Greater Scaup. I wonder if it is a hybrid GRSC X TUDU? Sometimes the back looked more slaty than really black, could not tell if it was due to the sun or because it is a young bird?????.
