Observation details
First cycle bird first discovered yesterday by Ben Douglas. Initially out from the parking lot when I arrived, but it spent the rest of the day near or between the car and railroad bridges, with considerable amount of time loafing on both the MN and WI sides. We watched it catch quite a few small fish (~15) in the evening before heading up the river to roost. Many observers, even more photos. Combination of small size (especially head and bill), long wings with bold “M,” and wedge-shaped tail with black tip distinctive.
