Observation details
Continuing bird found by brad Lirette yesterday. We started off in the pines west of Golbow at dawn. We heard the bird call and followed it to the trees next to the small circle lot next to the bathrooms from Golbow. Associated with a mixed species flock of bluebirds and yellow rumps. Often associated with the greater pewee. Tanager sized bird. All yellow but with slight hint of orange on upper chest. Belly and undertail coverts were dull yellow to gray. Wings also dull yellow with gray wash. No wingbars. Ear patch slightly gray. Tail relatively long and slightly indented. Frequented pines, sycamores and other deciduous trees. Feeding on insects. Often in tops of trees but occasionally would drop down to lower branches of trees. Call was a medium pitch quick descending peeuw. Attached map shows where the bird frequented during our time there.
