Observation details
***Mega, tentative 3rd US record. #internetbird, posted to 'whats this bird?' facebook group previous evening at 10:30 pm, and igniting the efforts to refind today. Conifer thickets just S of parking lot. Morning vigil by many unsuccessful, but fortunately it was refound around noon, triggering the second chase! Spent the afternoon foraging and resting mostly in a single, dense, fruiting yew bush, capturing fruit and the occasional insect. Forayed away from focal bush a few times, but typically skulky, sallying for prey in thicket and rarely perching in open. Would rest for extended periods, seeming to breath heavily at times. Apparently standard field marks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5SAAu5iNi0) of triple wing-bar, 'dotted' wing bars, and large, rounded head readily visible. Pale edges to lesser coverts worn, but visibly present. Primary projection medium-long. Minimal white in crown. Yellowish edging to secondaries extending all the way beneath greater covs. Others heard it call, I did not.
