Observation details
Unmistakable. Initially heard by RJ Dudragne giving distinctive single note call (clear and slightly uprising tee-yeeeee!); after a couple of minutes scanning the east shoreline of the river below power station (intermittently, also watching the loon!) located the Killdeer in scope. Very poor digiscope image attached. Watched for the next several minutes, and periodically throughout observation period as RJ joined by Joel, then Annie and Nick. Clear in the field observation was larger plover, pale legs, double black breast band and all-white below, brown to rusty brown above, white line above eye to black fore-crown. When stretched wings noted white stripe across, but most prominent was bright copper-orange rump.
