Observation details
Single flock observed from 13:20-13:49 as they flew south following the eastern side of the Wapack ridge. They were initially spotted from the hawk watch soaring in a thermal (gliding with a little flapping). They rose for several minutes before pealing off and forming an untidy "v". They stopped to soar a couple more times while they were in view, last spotted heading towards Temple Mountain from the Boston overlook. At their closest, you could clearly make out their extended necks, long, rather blunt-tipped wings, and long, trailing legs. Not close enough to make out plumage details, but the birds gave the impression of being gray/warm brownish-gray. Flap with a snappy upbeat and slower downbeat.
