Observation details
Identifiable cell phone video and photos taken. Bird was extremely white below, with only limited barring on the breast and underwing coverts. There were darker feathers at tips of the wing coverts at the base of the primaries near the leading edge of the wing, creating a little 'comma' on the underwing. Below, the primaries and secondaries were clean white without any visible barring. The legs seemed to be getting dark. Above the bird had noticeable white windows in the primaries (which was also very apparent below as the light shown through.) The base of the tail was white, so broad that you wouldn't even call it a band. The wing shape was very long, noticeably longer I'd say compared to Red-tailed Hawk. The bill was noticeably large, giving the bird a large-headed look. This is a great record for Coleman County as this species is tough to find in the region.
