Observation details
Seen just after daybreak about a third of a mile north of Blind Pass Beach Park, just south of the first house. The survey route goes up 6 houses before we double back, and the bird was gone on my return. I did not see the bird fly in, nor leave, I had dropped my pen in the sand, and when I stood back up and had finished cleaning the sand off, there it was, parked on the sand I had just walked over. It was being harassed by three LAGU, but held its own. After a few minutes, I went on my way. Initially mis-i.d.'ed as a Bonaparte's Gull, which is super unfortunate. Mea culpa.
