Observation details
Continuing. Pointed out by three observers, thank you! With Canada Geese near shore. Body smaller, neck shorter, bill shorter than nearby Canada Geese. Seemed to paddle a little unevenly, a subtle waddle while paddling. (After reviewing these photos, I'll add that while the size difference is marked in the photos, and the Cackling Goose was most definitely smaller, while viewing the live moving birds it was not nearly so easy to distinguish the Cackling Goose based on size alone. The stubbier bill was the identifying mark I could distinguish rather than the size.)
