Observation details
**Rare. Seen circling high to the north of the park for several minutes as it drifted west, gaining altitude. Eventually set its wings and flew due west across Delaware Bay, at which point we stopped watching it. This was an individual that somebody had seen heading to roost at Pond Creek Marsh the evening prior, and so there was some expectation around the hawkwatch that they would see it getting up and flying around at some point during the morning. Fortunate timing for us to be nearby the hawkwatch dune crossing when I got the call that they were watching the stork from the hawkwatch. Scope views for all in group. Poor, distant, photos.
