Observation details
First it was on the far shore but slowly started getting closer to the bridge and to us. It was actively feeding the whole time, usually above the surface for 5-10 seconds and diving for about 8-10 seconds. Covered about a mile in a short time. Black and white almost evenly divided between top and bottom of the body. Black above the eye, white throat and nape, black neck. Short and stubby bill. Photos taken.
