Observation details
The kicker is...we heard them. Or, at least, one of them. When they flew off, one bird gave the "laughing" flight call, very different from the snarling flight call ("landing call," basically) of the Eurasian Collared-Dove. The rest of the story: The two birds were right together, at the Fairy Garden. The first bird caught our attention for being generally pale and dopey-looking. Then we noticed the second bird, whose under-tail pattern matched that of African Collared-Dove (well presented in the photo); note also that the remiges in the second bird are not particularly dark. This was all before we heard the bird or birds in flight.
