Observation details
A bird of this species was seen perched in a dead tree in the centre of the reserve, about 350 metres from the observatory overlooking Laguna del río Viejo. I studied it using my telescope. It did fly towards me but circled back to almost the same perch. I did photograph it for a record and they helped with its identification. Due to its brownish upperparts I and the shape of the bird when it flew I concluded it was a bird of this species and that it was a juvenile rather than an adult. (Photographed).
