Observation details
On entering the State Park at 8am we stopped 10 feet away from a Northern Goshawk on the ground eating a Crow. We viewed the bird, which was being closely watched by a Red-tail Hawk for 5 minutes until it flew South. Eye stripe was clearly seen as were all the expected identification marks and one of our group (Charley West) took a definitive identification photograph. Some two hours later at the northern end of the Park a Goshawk flew overhead - this may have been a duplicate of the original bird but came from the opposite direction.
