Observation details
As many as 3-4 in cattails along first 30 meters of the straightaway immediately north of entrance road crossing. Melospiza similar to song sparrow but with only a few blurry streaks and indistinct central spot on breast. Gray faces and supercillia, buffy malar stripes, contrasting pale throats, dark post-ocular stripes that expand into a triangle-like shape. Reddish on mantles with bold dark streaks. Loud sharp chip notes similar to black phoebe. Photos and recordings within 2-3 days.
