Media notes
Remarks: An absolute skulker, this one. Here it is hiding within a pruned tea bush. With the bushes having been pruned it is much easier to spot these birds although they are well camouflaged against the bare stems and the decaying leaf litter. The leaf litter from the pruning is allowed to decompose at the base of the plant adding nutrients to the soil. The insects that are found amongst the decaying matter are a source of food for these small birds. - RKP . Date added to OBI: December 18, 2010.
