Media notes
Male displaying. Remarks: Showing the typical habitat of the Florican. In Sonkhaliya it prefers mainly Muung and Jwaar fields. Mainly silent. Gives a short whistle when disturbed. Displaying birds produce a frog-like croak which is characteristic. Usual frequency of male displays is around one jump/display every 3-15 minutes. This time we observed an unique record of 6 jumps/display straight in less than 25 seconds. - AB. Date added to OBI: August 12, 2015.
