Media notes
Adult. Remarks: I was watching a bird wave (mixed foraging party) comprising 6+ Ashy Minivets, Leaf Birds, Brown Flycatchers (Rufous-chested or Mugimaki Flycatcher), Ashy Bulbuls, Red-eyed Bulbuls, other Bulbuls, Flowerpecker, Sunbirds, etc. When a large bird flew into the mixed foraging party that looked like a raptor (Goshawk or Sparrowhawk at first glance). When it landed I recognised that it was a Hawk-cuckoo. Unfortunately in the brief time I had for observation it did not turn around for me to see the breast to aid in identification. - Amar Overall dark greyish appearance to dorsal surface, and narrow penultimate dark band on tail indicate migratory Whistling Hawk-cuckoo Hierococcyx nisicolor. - Clive Mann.
