Observation details
At least 2 birds; 100 to 125 feet away; Working their way along tops of willow/alder shrubs along edge of open area; shrubs 3-4 metres tall; scatter birch trees. Large white cheek patch; longer tail than Black-capped; top of head grey, not brown. Cheek patch very large and long, easily visible to naked eye when birds flew. Also identified with commercial audio recordings, but birds did not respond to playbacks.
