Lark Sparrow (Chondestes grammacus)
Observation details
No mistaking this sparrow! A few of us got a decent and some photos even though the individual was back lighted. Two of us clearly saw the white on the edges of the tail as it flew up and out of the road. Perched on a nearby shrub where we could make out the bold white around the eyes, red cheeks, and black line down the throat. Poor photos attached.
