Observation details
I went for a foliage walk around Stave Island, on the walk I came upon this Common Tern (12:10pm) on the rocky shore. Its right wing had been injured. It could fly short distances but it preferred to rest. If I got to close (less than 30 feet) it would fly to the water and land. It was fairly windy that day so it was tough for it to stay in the water. I backed undercover and the tern came back to the shore and rested on the sun exposed rocks. I watched the tern for about an hour and then left it sunning. At about 4:30pm the same day I went back to check on the tern and it was nowhere to be found.
