Observation details
Feeding by itself, 32°34'37.2"N 104°24'00.5"W. As I was leaving I Heard a strange sound (pheasant?) nearby and investigated. Didn’t see that but I looked at the lone bird on the shore. Superficially like a Spotted Sandpiper but with shorter bill, obvious pattern on wings, dark wreath around the chest, head with different pattern. Walking shore and flipping mud clods. Much better pics than bird seen at McMillan Dam. Eventually spooked, giving an alarm call-very rapid tu-tu-tu-tu.
