Observation details
- Group 1: 1 male, 1 female (Female foraging in grass. Male crowing in grass roughly 1m away from female. Facing female, flapped its wings before crowing. This is perhaps a courtship call to attract female attention.) - Group 2: 1 male (Crowing while standing on a rock. This is likely to defend territory.) - Group 3: 3 junglefowls (2 females foraging in grass. 1 male crowing while roosting in tree above the females. This may be to defend territory, by announcing to the hens that another rooster is nearby.) - Group 4: 18 junglefowls (1 male, 12 females, 5 chicks. All foraging.) - Group 5: 5 junglefowls (1 male, 1 female, 3 chicks. All foraging. Soft, brief and repetitive clucking of hen to call her chicks to follow her was heard but not recorded.)
