Observation details

Rare. Juvenile bird picked up at end of Bird Island Pier. Watched it through 32x wide angle scope as it leisurely made its way into the Niagara River in the strong (20-30mph) SW winds. Black M-pattern on back, size of Ring-billed Gull, partial black collar on back of neck, traveling solo. Second bird very close along edge of lawn in front of us!!!!
