Observation details
Long bill with pinkish base. Grayer and plainer colouring than Marbled Godwit, but still plenty of warm tones. White rump & dark tail seen on all five birds when preening and in flight. I first spotted the group of five together on the rocky point at 1:54 pm. At 2:45 pm four of the Godwits flew east along Lake Erie (towards Buffalo), until they were lost from sight as they gained altitude and distance close to the Peace Bridge area. The remaining Godwit (the darkest of the group) stayed in and around the point for the rest of the evening. It was still there at dusk, when I returned for another peek.
