Observation details
We first heard the metallic chink call of this bird, then Charity found it at it walked and bobbed its tail along the south shoreline of the pond that extends into the golf course, near the Summerly Trail. Location 33°38’ 51.58”N 117°18’ 48.66”W. For size comparison, it was smaller than a nearby Red-winged Blackbird. Dark brown above, and pale below (with a hint of yellow wash) and had streaks along the breast and belly. Long pale supercilium. Dark line through eyes. Pale pinking legs and feet. Photos (distant and close) to follow. Charity and Greg attempted to follow the bird as it moved south west along the thick bushes on the the pond shoreline, but it disappeared into the bushes. Charity managed a very close photo, to be posted.
