Observation details
Seen at 4:30 in overgrown brush/swampy area by lake side at tennis courts. Was with 2 chipping sparrows at least. Also in that brush were house finch, gray catbirds, brown thrashers, cardinals, an eastern towhee, and a blue grosbeak. Clay-colored sparrow came up on top of brush for a minute, then jumped back down in the brush where I couldn't see it anymore. Long notched tail, buffy breast. Gray nape of neck. Compared to chipping sparrow, it was missing black eye-stripe/lores. Pink bill and legs. See photo attached to checklist.
