Observation details
***Mega; State bird; flew in from the outer harbor almost overhead; After a brief fruitless scan I noticed I had just missed a call from Marshall Iliff. I picked up my phone and called him back. A minute or two into our conversation I picked out an obvious Brown Pelican naked eye bombing into the harbor from the outer harbor, nearly directly overhead. I dropped my phone and began screaming for Jeff to get on the bird, which he did. We both photographed it and watched it for approximately 15 seconds as it flew over 3 Dolphin Way and headed into the inner harbor. I picked Marshall back up, who was still on the phone, and already mobilizing to twitch. At a seemingly supernatural speed, he managed to teleport from West Roxbury to the New England Aquarium, where he quickly refound the bird in the inner harbor. Coordinating with Marshall, who directed us where the bird had landed, we drove around until we had a better vantage point and had decent looks at the bird in fading light on the water; many photos
