Media notes
Spontaneous songs of a male Eared Quetzal as it moves up and down a stream valley en route to Cinco Millas, Santuario Madera. It flies high, from tree to tree, singing intermittently, as a second more distant, quetzal is sometimes heard in the background. I’ve combined several cuts of the same bird(s). Other background sounds include: distant Steller’s Jays, Thick-billed Parrots, N. Flicker (Red-shafted), a Brown Creeper, and an intermittent chainsaw in the distance. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola. Recordings after ca. 4' would probably qualify as 4-star.
