Observation details
heard continuous "chik-chik" call almost at my feet in the thick smartweed growth. Watched for about a minute and was able to glimpse a small wren, short, sharp, slightly down-turned bill, cocked tail with streaks on its back, face pretty grey. About 90% sure it was this species. Marsh Wren would be bigger, have more markings on face - eye-stripe. Never came above the weeds but stayed inside the growth. Went silent for a time but could hear from time to time further out into the weeds.
