Observation details
Stayed for roughly 20 minutes. A little concerned that only one adult was seen. 3 juveniles. One juvenile still in hole, but in BOTTOM hole! Being fed by adult. Looks like it was ready to fly. Why was it in bottom hole? Had it already fledged, but flew back into bottom hole? At least two more juveniles along edge of clear-cut. Adult flew up to one very close, but could not see if it was fed or not. We originally thought that the two young on the edge of the clearcut were from the first brood, but now not 100% certain. Adult also seen gleaning and caching American Beech nuts!
