Observation details
Foraging in shallow pond with 2 Westerns, plus other shorebirds nearby on same pond. Similar to Westerns in many regards. Differences include nearly tubular shaped, shorter, nearly straight bill; no hint of rusty on crown or scapulars. Underparts white with pale gray wash on breast. Upperparts generally appearing pale to medium grayish, streaked on crown, whitish feather edges on scapulars, back and tertials with slight tinge of brownish near edge of scapulars. Rather dark eyeline and whitish supercilium. Black legs and bill. Digiscope images. Appears to be a juvenile with the crispness of the current plumage and the whitish feather edging on upperparts.
