Observation details
Seen poorly as it motored away into the sun. When I first saw it, my mind immediately went to Barolo Shearwater as a possibility, based on flight style and apparent small size and short wings. Took twenty or so bad bad, backlit photos. Quick look at photos in the field was equivocal but actually made me think that I had likely just mis-judged the flight style and structure on a Manx. Photo examination on a computer at the end of the day seems to indicate that this was actually a Barolo (or theoretically Boyd’s) Shearwater. Time 15:59, GPS: 42.9543, -67.8869
