Observation details
In consultation with Louis Bevier, who notes, "...Eastern because the scapulars are clearly contrasting with the rest of the bird. Western's are much plainer and grayer. Adjusting the lighting, I can see this bird was somewhat brownish in those scapulars, good for Eastern. Those feathers are also more boldly and contrastingly patterned than Western. Lastly, the structure looks Eastern, with a shorter and stouter looking bill, shorter legs, and thicker neck than I expect on Western..."
