Observation details
*mega*. Observed foraging with other warblers (wiwa, towa, and ywar) at the edge of the "owl roost area" willows. the bird tended to forage near the trunks of the willows which made viewing frustratingly difficult. my first view of the bird was only of its head, where I noticed a distinctive thin black line going from the eye to the bill on an otherwise yellow face. I yelled out to Chris that I thought I had a Blue-winged Warbler. We watched the bird off and on (mostly off) for ten minutes or so and it even once came out to the edge of the willows for a nice profile view. at this point the identification was straightforward: a yellow warbler, thin black eye-line, blue-gray wings with two white wing bars, white undertail coverts. later attempts to get photos were mostly unsuccessful but i think i got some that at least show the wings and belly of the bird.
